How Northing measures use of this website and how you can control analytics.

Written byNorthing

This notice applies to the public website at northing.ai. It does not describe the separate Northing product application.

What the website receives

Like most hosted websites, Northing's hosting provider, Vercel, receives technical request information needed to deliver and protect the site. This can include an IP address, requested page, time, browser or user-agent details, referring page and response status. Northing uses this operational evidence to diagnose failures, security issues and crawler access.

Northing keeps server-request evidence separate from Google Analytics reporting. Northing does not use it in routine reporting to identify individual visitors or build advertising profiles.

For production requests to public static pages, Vercel sends a restricted copy of this evidence through a Northing-controlled, signed collector to Northing's PostHog Cloud EU project. Northing uses PostHog to distinguish automated agents from likely human requests, check agent-readable routes and find missing public pages. Query strings, referrers, IP addresses, log messages, deployment IDs, names, form values and account data are not forwarded, and PostHog person profiles are disabled for these events.

Optional website analytics

If you accept analytics, the website loads Google Analytics 4 for the Northing marketing property. Northing uses it to understand visits to public pages and deliberate actions such as opening the Vision page, signing in or starting a product handoff.

Northing does not send names, email addresses, free-text entries or account identifiers to Google Analytics. Advertising consent remains denied. Google Signals, User-ID, advertising links, user-provided data and enhanced conversions are not enabled. Event-level analytics data is currently retained for two months; user-level retention is currently fourteen months.

Analytics preferences

Analytics is optional and will not load until you accept it. You can decline without losing access to the website. The Analytics Preferences link lets you reopen and change the same choice; withdrawing consent stops future analytics collection in this browser.

Essential hosting requests still occur because they are required to return the page, maintain security and diagnose service failures.

Processing and retention

Vercel and Google operate infrastructure in multiple countries, and PostHog processing for this website is configured in its European Union cloud region. Website request and analytics data may therefore be processed outside Australia under those providers' service and privacy terms. Northing will keep each provider's retention and access settings limited to what the public website needs and will document material changes here.

Questions

Northing has not yet published a dedicated privacy email or postal address. This notice will be updated when that durable contact is established. It will not substitute an invented company or contact identity in the meantime.
